carbon credit verification

Introduction

Before we introduce the projects, we should first explain the difference between verified and unverified projects.

Verified projects

A verified project is one which complies to the United Nations protocols on the production and sale of carbon credits. It is subject to a relatively stringent process of submission and inspection. These projects tend to be more corporate in style and the carbon credits tend to be more expensive. If you are a large company which is obligated to offset your emissions by law, then you have no choice but to use this kind of project.

Unverified projects

An unverified project is one which has not gone through any formal checking process, but sells itself on its integrity. These tend to be more personable passion-driven projects and the carbon credits tend to be lower cost. For a small or medium-sized company, which is not obliged by law to offset its emissions, we usually recommend this kind of project, where we look to deliver an attractive blend of competence, transparency, efficiency, authenticity and value.
